Valley of Fire Las Vegas Desert Engagement | Chloe + Derek

Valley_of_Fire_Las_Vegas_Engagement_photos-10.jpg

When Chloe contacted me about photographing her & Derek's engagement session at the Valley of Fire, I just assumed it was because it's a pretty and unique location.  Of course, it totally is a gorgeous location for photos, but to them the Valley of Fire made them think of Radiator Springs. Yes, Radiator Springs from the Disney/Pixar movie Cars!  You see, these two are huge fans of the movie and of race car driving!  Derek even had a cute custom made Lightning McQueen box by The Model Maker for her gorgeous engagement ring designed by the talented jewelry designer, Heidi Gibson

So we excitedly we set out to capture the essence of Radiator Springs in our very own Valley of Fire State Park! Enjoy the images from Chloe + Derek's fun-filled Cars inspired engagement session!

Cili at Bali Hai Golf Club Wedding | Christine + Matt

Christine + Matt are a testament to how far one will go for true love.  Having met by chance at a conference in London - Matt living in Amsterdam, Christine living in the U.S.- anyone would have thought it was simply a few days of fun flirting. But, as life would have it this is not a story of a simple flirtation to pass the time at a work conference. No. This was meant to last. And it did. After countless Skype chats, text messages, phone calls, and trips to visit each, Christine eventually moved to Amsterdam to be with Matt and they've had an amazing adventure there. After a romantic proposal in Venice, Italy, Christine said yes and it was time to start planning the big day.  Having family and friends throughout the country, they settled on one of Matt's favorite cities, Las Vegas (cue Elvis theme song!) Just kidding, the "King" would not be making an appearance at Christine + Matt's gorgeous Cili Restaurant at Bali Hai Golf Club wedding.  There would however be lots of love, happy tears, and big hugs as these two tied the knot and became Mr. and Mrs. surrounded by their family and close friends.

The day started at the Bellagio, where Christine and her sister was getting dolled up by the team of Makeup in the 702 and Matt were getting ready in a separate suite with his brother.  We then made our way to the venue for some photos with family and friends before the ceremony.  After the ceremony, we took the newlyweds around the gorgeous palm tree filled property of Bali Hai Golf Course for some portraits and they enjoyed some time together before their reception, which was a total blast! After dinner service, the dance floor was soon full of friends and family celebrating a new chapter in Christine + Matt's love story.

C+M: We hope you enjoyed your much needed R&R on your tropical island honeymoon! We wish you a lifetime of adventures together! XO - Jessie & Jason

Springs Preserve Wedding {Mackenzie + John}

Mackenzie and John were guests at a wedding we photographed in San Francisco in 2015! So, when it was their turn to wed, they didn't hesitate to contact us.  They said they liked being able to see us in "action" and liked our relaxed and friendly personalities throughout the wedding day and of course, they'd seen their friends' wedding photos and loved them! I'm so happy we were able to meet and capture their Springs Preserve wedding day!

The weather in the days leading up to Mackenzie + John's wedding had me a little nervous.  Super windy, cold by Vegas standards, and we even had rain! But as it turns out, Mackenzie + John had perfect weather to tie the knot! I couldn't be happier and I know Mackenzie and John were relieved too!

Mackenzie and her bridesmaids got their makeup done at Makeup in the 702's downtown Las Vegas studio and her hair was also done prior to her coming to Springs Preserve.  So, when we met up with them at the venue, she were all dolled up and ready to change into her beautiful wedding gown.  Jason spent some time with John while he got ready and then we were ready for their first look!

Ya'll know I love a good first look and this one did not disappoint!  That moment when a bride and groom see each other for the first time on their wedding day is so special.  It deserves to be done in an intimate setting where they can take it all in and just enjoy it fully! After their first look we did a few more portraits with the bridal party and then gave them some time to relax and freshen up before the ceremony.  During this time, Jason and photographed all the pretty details and floral arrangements throughout the ceremony space, cocktail hour at the frame house, and the Garden Arbor reception room.

Following their beautiful and gorgeously personalized ceremony by Angie from Peachy Keen Unions, we had some time to get a few more portraits of the new Mr. & Mrs. before entering their reception.  Their reception was a blast! They had about 65 guests who were all close friends and family, so there was definitely a cozy family vibe throughout the night.  It could not have been a more perfect day for a more perfect and deserving couple!

Mackenzie + John: Thank you so much for having us be a part of your day! We just love you guys and wish you nothing but happiness, adventures, and mornings with coffee in bed for all the years to come! XO
