Las Vegas Elopement | Jacqueline + Miro

I swear Jacqueline + Miro could be models! I mean, just look how gorgeous they are! Not only that but, they’re also two of the nicest and relaxed people ever! We had so much fun with them! They came from Australia earlier this year to be married in Las Vegas. They booked with one of the many chapels in Vegas and unfortunately, they do not allow couples to use their own photographers for the ceremony. If you’re looking to book your ceremony with any of the chapels or casinos, I would highly recommend you confirm their photography policy prior to booking. I am also always available to make recommendations on venues who do not have such strict photo policies ; )

Since we couldn’t photograph the ceremony, they decided to go outside the box, literally, and get away from the city for their wedding portraits! We met Jacqueline and Miro at Nelson, which is about a 45 minute drive from the strip and got some fun photos there among their old cars, barns, and cactus! It’s really a neat place for phots! After our time there, we drove to the dry lake bed, which is another favorite spot of ours. This is close by, so the two locations work really well together. We got there just as the sun was setting behind the mountains and gave us the best lighting! Also, really loved how we ended the session with a sweet first dance in the middle of the desert! Totally epic and totally them. Just how they wanted it to be!

Las Vegas Destination Elopement Samantha + Chris

Samantha and Chris traveled with their 2 best friends all the way from Scotland to get married in the Las Vegas desert! We communicated great via email and we were able to coordinate an amazing elopement for them in at the El Dorado Canyon Ghost Town located in Nelson Nevada, about a 60-minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip.

The small group rented a limo for the 1 hr drive, this way they didn't have to worry about directions or getting lost and they could just enjoy the ride and take it all in.  It really is a beautiful view once you start to get out of the city and the vast desert landscape takes over!

Everyone arrived refreshed and ready to have a great time, albeit they may have been a few nerves, but nothing out of the ordinary! Samantha looked beautiful in her boho dress and spotless hair and makeup done by the talented crew of Makeup in the 702.  We absolutely loved how Chris and the guys dressed in their traditional Scottish kilts to pay homage to their heritage.  Angie, from Peachy Keen Unions, officiated the ceremony and it was absolutely lovely.  We set up in an open patch amongst the pretty cholla cacti - careful to not get pricked!

After the ceremony, we walked around and explored the area.  El Dorado Canyon has a lot of old cars, antiques, and barns, so it makes it super fun to get creative and use these unique props.  Samantha had told me they were both shy and not used to having their photos taken.  I told her not to worry, most people get nervous and aren't used to having their photos taken.  It's totally natural and our jobs as photographers is to help guide them and give cues on poses and help create scenarios where our couples can relax and be themselves! So, Samantha and Chris, and all our couples, never had to worry about what to do next, who to look at, our how to pose.  I gotta tell you, these two totally rocked it! They were able to relax and enjoy our time together during their session and were just so happy to be newlyweds.  And, we were so happy we got to be there for them to capture it all!
