Wow, ya’ll, I can’t believe it’s been just over a month since I blogged! January was such a busy month for us and we were nonstop! So, I’ve finally been able to exhale and tackle my ever growing to-do list and blogging was right there on the top of that list! I’ve got some really amazing weddings and shoots to share with you, along with some great ideas for helpful posts too! I can’t wait! I thought I’d start out with one of my favorite intimate weddings of 2018! Enjoy :)

Surrounded by family, friends, and the epic backdrop that is Red Rock Canyon, Whitney and Josh had a sweet and intimate wedding ceremony. It was just what they wanted and Desert Elopements Las Vegas was there to help them coordinate it and secure the perfect outdoor location! Whitney had the awesome team at Amelia C. and Co. do her hair and makeup and she topped off her boho look with an amazing bouquet from Layers of Lovely! Just check out their photos andI’m sure you’ll agree that they had a dream team of vendors and their location couldn’t be any more dreamy!

When you are love being in nature and going on adventures together, it’s only fitting that you would choose an epic location for your wedding day, right? This is exactly what Molly + Chad did for their wedding day! They chose to have an intimate ceremony surrounded by their immediate family at beautiful Red Rock Canyon in Las Vegas.

Angie of Peachy Keen Unions performed their ceremony and it could not have been more perfect. After family photos, we went off with the newlyweds and explored together and just let them soak it all in! Molly and Chad are just the sweetest people and their love was so evident. It was so sweet to document! Just take a look for yourself:

Las Vegas Destination Elopement Samantha + Chris

Samantha and Chris traveled with their 2 best friends all the way from Scotland to get married in the Las Vegas desert! We communicated great via email and we were able to coordinate an amazing elopement for them in at the El Dorado Canyon Ghost Town located in Nelson Nevada, about a 60-minute drive from the Las Vegas Strip.

The small group rented a limo for the 1 hr drive, this way they didn't have to worry about directions or getting lost and they could just enjoy the ride and take it all in.  It really is a beautiful view once you start to get out of the city and the vast desert landscape takes over!

Everyone arrived refreshed and ready to have a great time, albeit they may have been a few nerves, but nothing out of the ordinary! Samantha looked beautiful in her boho dress and spotless hair and makeup done by the talented crew of Makeup in the 702.  We absolutely loved how Chris and the guys dressed in their traditional Scottish kilts to pay homage to their heritage.  Angie, from Peachy Keen Unions, officiated the ceremony and it was absolutely lovely.  We set up in an open patch amongst the pretty cholla cacti - careful to not get pricked!

After the ceremony, we walked around and explored the area.  El Dorado Canyon has a lot of old cars, antiques, and barns, so it makes it super fun to get creative and use these unique props.  Samantha had told me they were both shy and not used to having their photos taken.  I told her not to worry, most people get nervous and aren't used to having their photos taken.  It's totally natural and our jobs as photographers is to help guide them and give cues on poses and help create scenarios where our couples can relax and be themselves! So, Samantha and Chris, and all our couples, never had to worry about what to do next, who to look at, our how to pose.  I gotta tell you, these two totally rocked it! They were able to relax and enjoy our time together during their session and were just so happy to be newlyweds.  And, we were so happy we got to be there for them to capture it all!
