Neon Museum Las Vegas Proposal | Justin + Jessica

Justin and Jessica came to Vegas for a long weekend getaway from San Antonio, TX! Little did Jessica know this weekend would change her life! Justin contacted me a week before he was planning to propose to Jessica and "lucky" for him, I had availability.

He had set up an hour session at the Neon Museum, split between 30 minutes at the North Gallery and 30 minutes in the new Boulevard Gallery.  So, for all the other proposal shoots I've done, they've had no idea their boyfriends had booked me, so I had to pretend I was just a tourist on the strip with a nice camera.  No biggie! In this case, due to the location, I couldn't be kept a secret.  So, Justin told Jessica that he'd booked a photo session for them at the Neon Museum, so I was totally expected.  Now, you might be thinking that Jessica should have thought something was up, right? I know I did! But, turns out (and I found all of this out after he proposed!) Jessica had been wanting to do a destination photo shoot with Justin for awhile now! She'd brought it up before several of their other trips together and Justin always declined. So, she just saw this as his way of finally giving in and showing her just how much he loves her.  Well, obviously Justin really really loves Jessica because, unbeknownst to her, he was planning to propose.  I told Justin I'd shoot for a few minutes and then ask if they had any specific poses or shots they wanted to get.  That would be his cue! Justin said he had one and Jessica looked a little puzzled.  I mean, he's never wanted a professional photo shoot and now he had ideas on poses?!? But, before she had too much time to think, Justin was already on bended knee, going for the ring box he had discreetly placed in his sock and asked Jessica to marry him!  You guys!!! It was pure perfection! Looking at these photos, I think you can guess her answer!

I had such a blast with these two and it felt like we could just keep hanging out all afternoon. Well, I'm sure they were ready to get rid of me and just enjoy being together and engaged in Las Vegas alone ;) Congrats, Justin + Jessica!!!

Las Vegas Engagement Session | Jenna + Mike

Jenna and Mike came to Vegas for vacation from Canada a few weeks ago and having recently been engaged, Jenna thought it'd be a great idea to get engagement photos done too! Isn't that the best idea ever?!? I seriously love it when couples, whether it be for their engagement, anniversary, or just because, plan a photo shoot during their travels.  Jenna and Mike not only have amazing memories from their trip, they now have amazing photos to remind them of it too!

We met up at MGM Hotel & Casino, where they were staying, and took a little walking tour across the street to NYNY and around The Park.  They were a little nervous about having photos done, as this would be their first professional session, so we walked and chatted and tried to make them as comfortable and relaxed as possible.  I think they did a great job and were total naturals!

Las Vegas Anniversary Portrait Session | Lettie + German

It's always such a pleasure to hear from past couples and see how they're doing! I was so excited to hear from Lettie last month! We photographed their Las Vegas destination engagement and wedding 6 years ago!! They live in Southern California but were flying into Vegas to celebrate German's birthday and an early anniversary trip and decided it was time for some updated photos.  I couldn't agree more!  A lot of couples only have photos done for their engagement and wedding and then again when they start a family, they do family photos or just photos of the kids.  But, I think it's important for couples to get professional photos together after the wedding day.  Not only do they serve as reminders of where you are now in your life and relationship, but the experience of being together without distractions of everyday life and focusing on each other is so good for you! It's an opportunity to flirt (yes, married couples should totally flirt with each other!!!) and rekindle some of that romance! I highly recommend planning an anniversary session to our couples a few years into their marriage and periodically after that for milestone years.  I promise you won't regret it.  Just check out a few of my favorites from Lettie + German's session.  They totally rocked it out in the desert!
